EGA Press ReleaseFriday, 29 October 2004EGA DIRECTOR GENERAL, GREG PERRY, RECEIVES
The Golden Cross of Merit is one of the highest civil distinctions established by the Parliament of the Republic of Poland. Normally reserved for Polish nationals, Mr Perry joins the ranks of only a limited number of foreigners to receive the decoration. The Golden Cross is awarded to individuals who have performed services of particular value to the State or society of Poland. Upon receiving the Award, Mr Perry said that he was “deeply honoured to be among the few non-Polish nationals to receive the Golden Cross.” Although awarded to him personally, Mr Perry said the honour “reflects the hard work and dedication of the EGA to the cause of affordable medicines in Poland.” Mr Perry’s award concludes a special year of recognition for the EGA. In April 2004 the EGA received the Commissioner’s Special Citation from the US Federal Drug Administration (FDA) for the association’s work in developing international guidelines for good manufacturing practice of pharmaceutical products. In May 2004 Rory O’Riordan, President of the EGA, received the Business Humanitarian Award 2004 from the Business Humanitarian Forum in Geneva for his work to build and equip a locally owned generic medicines factory in Kabul, Afghanistan. << Back For further information contact the EGA on |
