Emile Loof, the newly elected president of the European Generic medicines Association (EGA), has enjoyed a long and successful career in the European pharmaceutical industry. Mr Loof's educational qualifications include an HBS-B earned in 1967, four years of study in chemistry, physics and mathematics at the State University of Leiden from 1967-1971. He received his NIMA in 1985. From 1971 through 1975, Mr Loof worked as a medical representative at Bipharma, followed by twelve years at Rhone-Poulenc Nederland BV in various positions ranging from medical representative, hospital sales manager and marketing group manager, to marketing director. From 1987 to 1988 he served as the general manager of Nycomed. In 1988 he joined Pharmachemie, BV where he served as Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales until 2000 when he was promoted to his current position of President of Pharmachemie/TEVA. |
